Terms of use
These terms cover the Geocade iPhone app. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the download: Apple’s standard EULA. If these terms and Apple’s EULA both speak to the same point, Apple’s EULA controls for the licence Apple grants you.
The game
Geocade is a collection of geography games: daily puzzles that are the same for everyone each day, and arcade games you can replay. In the daily route game you name neighbouring countries and try to reach the destination in as few land-border crossings as possible. A crossing is a shared land border of the main territories in the bundled map. Overseas regions, exclaves, ferries, bridges, and tunnels do not count. The map is a reviewed puzzle model, not a statement of recognition and not travel advice.
A route’s par is fixed when you start it. Later map corrections do not change a route you have already begun.
Hints help but never solve a puzzle for you, and a result that used hints says so when shared. Giving up or missing a UTC day ends a streak. Streaks are kept on this phone.
Free play, ads and Pro
Every daily game is free. The free version shows a limited number of ads, and lets you watch optional ads to unlock a hint, an extra round or a second chance a few times a day. Geocade Pro removes all ads and unlocks unlimited extra rounds, hints, second chances and every route mode. Pro is a subscription sold through your Apple Account.
The price, the billing period, and any offer are the ones Apple shows you on the purchase screen before you confirm. Those prices can differ by country. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in Settings, Apple Account, Subscriptions. Pro stays available until the end of the period you have paid for. Restore purchases from Geocade’s settings if you reinstall.
Ads come from third-party networks; the privacy policy explains what they collect and how to change your choices. An ad that fails to load or is closed early doesn’t unlock its reward, and ad limits reset daily.
Acceptable use
Don’t break, copy, or resell the app, and don’t present a Geocade result as a fact about a border dispute. Report a border you think is wrong from Settings. A report is an email you choose to send.
Availability
The daily route needs the copy of the puzzle list inside the app. It does not need an account or a connection, except to buy, restore, or verify Pro. Features can be turned off if a build is unsafe; the free daily is designed to keep working.
Liability
Geocade is provided as a game. Borders in it can be simplified or wrong, and a wrong border is a puzzle defect, not directions. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, Geocade is not liable for loss of a streak, a save, or a result.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you keep the mandatory rights of that law, including any right to bring a claim in the courts of your home country.
