Privacy policy
Geocade is a collection of geography games for Android phones, made by Eris Technology Solutions (“we”). This policy explains what the app keeps on your phone, what our advertising partner collects when the free version shows ads, and the choices you have. Contact support@geocade.app.
What the app stores on your phone
Geocade has no account. Your games are saved on the phone, in the app’s private storage: results, streaks, scores, settings, and how many ads you have seen today (so we can keep to our limits). Country names you type never leave the phone.
Deleting Geocade deletes this save. We have no Geocade server, so we hold no copy.
What we do not collect
- We never ask for your name, email or Google Account.
- No precise location, contacts, camera, microphone or photo library access.
- No analytics service of our own. Diagnostic messages stay in the device log.
Ads in the free version
Free players see a few ads: an occasional ad between arcade games, and optional ads you can choose to watch to unlock a hint, an extra round or a second chance. Geocade Pro has no ads, and the advertising software is not started for Pro subscribers.
Ads are supplied by Google AdMob (how Google uses data in ads).
To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google collects information from your device: your IP address (which gives an approximate location), device type, operating system, language, how you interact with the ads, and crash and performance data from its software. If your choices allow it (below), Google also receives your device’s advertising ID and may use it to personalise ads. Google handles that information under its own privacy policy, linked above.
We ask Google to show only ads suitable for a general audience (content rated up to PG) and block categories such as gambling, dating and alcohol.
Your ad choices
- Consent (UK and EEA). Before any ad is requested, Geocade shows a consent message from Google’s certified consent platform. You can accept, refuse or choose by purpose and by partner. You can change your answer at any time in Geocade → Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- Advertising ID. Android gives your phone an advertising ID that Google can receive. You can delete or reset it at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some phones, Settings → Google → Ads). Once it is deleted, Google no longer receives it and ads are not personalised with it.
- No ads at all. Geocade Pro removes every ad.
Where the law requires consent for ads, we use consent as the basis; otherwise ads rely on our legitimate interest in funding a free app, which you can object to through the choices above.
Subscriptions
Geocade Pro is sold through Google Play. Payment, renewal and cancellation are handled by your Google Account. Geocade receives the subscription status Google Play provides so it can unlock Pro. We never receive your card details.
Notifications
A daily reminder is sent only after you turn it on, and Android asks your permission before Geocade can show notifications. It is scheduled on the phone, not sent from a server. You can turn it off in Geocade or in Android Settings → Apps → Geocade → Notifications.
Sharing a result
If you tap share, Geocade creates your result on the phone and hands it to the Android share sheet. Where it goes after that is up to you.
Playing on geocade.app
The games on our website save your progress, streaks and best scores in your browser’s own storage, on your device. They use no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and nothing you type is sent to us. On browsers that can’t display flag emoji, Flag Rush loads flag pictures from flagcdn.com, which receives your IP address as any website does. Clearing your browser data deletes your web progress.
Children
Geocade is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. It does not ask anyone’s age or build a profile.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data, and object to its use. We hold no personal data about you ourselves; for data collected by Google for ads, use the choices above or contact Google through its privacy policy. You can also email us, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version ships in the app and on geocade.app. The date at the top is the date of this version.
